Substance Abuse

Delta Center, Inc. is licensed through the Division of Alcohol and Substance Abuse to provide substance abuse treatment and intervention services to the youth and adult populations of Alexander and Pulaski Counties in Illinois. Delta’s substance abuse program currently employs outpatient substance abuse counselors, one part-time case manager, and program coordinator. We offer three levels of outpatient substance abuse services to best fit the needs of our clients.

Level .5, Early Intervention provides pre-treatment services to individuals whom present problems associated with or risk factors related to substance abuse. Individuals receiving these services could be youth experiencing behavioral problems at home or school, parents or significant others to substance abusers, individuals living in high drug use communities, etc. Education and support is offered to clients receiving early intervention services.

Level I, Outpatient provides assessment, treatment, and recovery services to client living in the community. These services are generally provided through regularly scheduled treatment session either individually and/or group settings weekly.

Level II, Intensive outpatient provides assessment, treatment, and recovery services to client living in the community. Clients attend an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) group a minimum of nine hours a week.

Delta Center’s substance abuse program has developed several specialized groups to assist our client’s with reaching their maximum potential throughout their recovery process. MISA groups are offered for those clients with a substance abuse diagnosis, as well as a mental health diagnosis. This specialized group offers these clients an integrated approach to treating their mental health and substance abuse issues. Recovery groups offer clients that have maintained their recovery and at the end of treatment to participate once weekly in a group arranged to offer support in their continued recovery process. Delta also offers a youth substance abuse groups targeted specifically to the youth population to work on issues related to this age group (e.g., peer pressure, experimentation, etc.).

As well as the above programs, Delta Center also offers substance abuse treatment to targeted populations within our communities. Delta has been licensed to provide substance abuse treatment to the DCFS population, where families involved with DCFS whom have substance related problems can participate in a specialized program. This program offers more outreach services such as, transportation to and from treatment, parenting groups, intensive case management services, etc. Delta Center also provides intake and assessments through both Pulaski and Alexander County Department of Human Services offices for those clients receiving or eligible to receive TANF benefits.
